Pray Together

November 27, 2014

This post was originally posted on ConvergeChurch.ca and has been archived here.

2 Thessalonians 5:17 instructs us to “pray without ceasing.”

As a church, we regularly pray in all our gatherings, formal and informal, and now we’re making space for us to gather for a committed time of prayer as a Converge Church family on a monthly basis (the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7:00pm).

Why Pray?

Because God is our Father, and we are his adopted children and we get to address him as “Daddy”. Because Jesus is our King and we are his servants who love to honour him and celebrate his work to save us from sin. Because the Holy Spirit has sent us as missionaries to the people we live among here in Campbell River and the surrounding area.

Prayer is our own basic expression of trust in God and it is simultaneously a submission to the reality that we have a need for him, and an invitation to him to do the work of changing us.

What can I expect?

It will be organized. We’ll have time for personal prayer, prayer for whole church topics, scripture readings, a few songs, as well as breaking into smaller groups.

Lets pray together.

Check the calendar for when the next prayer meeting is.
