4 Wrong Answers to the Question “Why Me?”

  • Ever wonder why this (insert a less than comfortable situation here) thing is happening to you? Pastor Tim Keller gives us 4 wrong answers to those questions as well as clarifies some reasons why trusting God is not just a pat answer.

To the Anxious Parent

  • I find myself getting anxious when parenting. There just seems to be so much going on all day long, never able to catch up, then the day comes to an end quickly and its hurry-up-and-get-the-kids-in-bed-time already! Ever been there? Have a read of this post from

Tell Your Story

  • I’m a big supporter of story. Stories are what make life interesting. You can be sitting in the most boring lecture in the world, but as soon as the prof begins to tell a story, we all perk up. There’s something to story that captures us. Your story is not different. Don’t be afraid to talk about how God’s grace has been made known to you. This post at is an encouragement to that effect. For more on telling your story, listen to a message of mine from Jonah 3:3b-10.

Ownership as Sacrifice

  • In this post, Pastor Brad House poses the question to the church, “Do we own the mission of God…or do we just agree with it?” The important distinction he makes brings to light our own motivation in whether we’re merely attending a church or whether we OWN the mission the church is on to make disciples.

 Resident Reflections: Love for Jesus

  • As we approach September and gear up for beginning the Gospel Leader (1-yr Residency), I thought I’d share what others in Bellingham have been saying about how they enjoyed and what they learned in their year doing the Gospel Leader training.

I recently read a book called “Dug Down Deep” by Joshua Harris. It is a really excellent starter book for those wishing to get their feet wet with basic Christian theology and doctrine. It is written in a fresh and interesting manner and after reading it I understand some of those big theology terms much better now.

Thanks Kat. I’ve got that book on my shelf, but haven’t picked it up yet. Maybe its time so that I can recommend it! Thanks!
