POINTs of Interest:

God’s timing has been amazing in providing for us, because I was able to work for my dad in Mackenzie Pulp for 3 weeks last month & it has helped us to get through the summer. We’re so thankful for his provision.

We’ve been having Vision/Info Meetings at my house on Wednesdays for the month of August (2 more to go). They’ve been going really well and we’ve been using them as a way to present the vision of the church plant, allowing people to explore if this might be something for them and answer any questions that come up along the way.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked, “So what is the name of this new church?” There are various ways to go about naming a church, but we’ve finally decided on one. We are excited to announce that we will be known as “Converge Church.” More to come on this in a blog post soon.

I was privileged to be invited to preach for a friend of mine, Darin Philips, at Oceanview Community Church (formerly Ladysmith Fellowship Baptist Church). I preached there on Sunday, Aug 8th and was able to bring Keely and our children with us, so on the way back, we stopped at Toy’s R Us so Levi could spend his Birthday money (can you believe he’s 9 already???). We also were able to check out the Sand Castle competition in Parksville. This was mine and Talitha’s fav (ain’t she cute).

If you are interested in what we’re going to be about as a church plant, you should definitely read the post linked below titled “Church Plant Vision, Info & Strategy”.

Prayer Points

• 2 more Vision/Info Meetings…pray that they go well.
• Pray that our focus would remain on the gospel and the glory of God would be our motivation.
• So far, the pastors in town that I have met with have been very supportive and are excited to see what God will do in building a new expression of his Church here in Campbell River.
• Pray that the others will have the same receptiveness and that I will be humble, yet confident in Christ’s calling.
• Pray for my family. Pray for Keely as she supports me. Pray for me that I would be faithful to and mature in my calling first as a husband, then as a dad, and then as a pastor.
• Pray. We appreciate your prayers.
