The Growth of the Church

The Spirit of God gives gifts to the church so that the church may be built up. These are given so that people may be challenged and enabled to pursue purity and unity as they grow in maturity both personally and collectively.

Ephesians 4:11-12

11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ
1 Peter 4:10
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:
1 Corinthians 12:7
To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
Below is the list of the gifts of the Spirit as laid out for us in 1 Corinthians 12:1-11. If you would like more specific teaching on what some of these gifts of the Spirit look like, let me know, but for now, you get a list.
(If you wish to do your own further study refer to 1 Corinthians 12-14, Romans 12 and Ephesians 4. And remember, NEVER NEVER NEVER forget that when you are studying Scripture, if you come across a passage that is unclear to you, make sure you interpret it in light of clear teaching from other passages.)
