Sending Comes First

Sending Comes First.

When we read Romans 10:13-15, we see that in order for someone to call on Jesus to be saved, there first has to be someone sent.

Here is Romans 10:13-15

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

These are the steps Paul has laid out for us in this passage:

  1. Sent
  2. Preach
  3. Hearing
  4. Believe
  5. Call

Sending comes first. Jesus sent us, just as he was sent…we’ve been sent. (Read my latest sermon on that.)

SENT with the Good News…the Gospel…of salvation from Satan, Sin & Death to life in Jesus, freedom from sin & eternal life.

Those who have been sent are sent to PREACH that very same Gospel.

Then it bridges from the Preacher to the one who HEARS that Gospel explained to them.

Then they BELIEVE that what they have heard is fact and true…that Jesus did die to take away sin & shame, rose again to live forever give us eternal life through faith in him.

Then they CALL on the name of the Lord…and they will be saved.

I would suggest that if we as Pastors and leaders in the Church want to see more people saved, that we start by doing more sending.

Sending comes first.
